DeleteDosDevice

Removes the DosDevice from the registry and writes an errorlevel to the DOS error log.
This is a required operation when you modify the Windows drive mapping on the DOS drive itself. This way the changes to the Windows registry is honored.
-1 is returned for invalid parameters

Cable noob. Help understanding the «primary purpose» of a polarity of a pair of coax

I just purchased a complete set of cb radios, and am building my first cable system. I followed this guide from the Arduino site:

And then

However, I am stuck at understanding the «primary purpose» of a cable. I understand that you can wire a cable «left and right» to prevent loops, but I don’t understand where the function of «ground» comes into play. I can follow some of the table of the cited data sheets, but it’s not matching with what I’m seeing with this DIY project, so I’m confused.
The source kit I was provided was:

Are «left» and «right» polarity part of the «primary purpose» of the cable? Should I always use «left» and «right» polarity for the cord when I’m not using the shields? How does the ground polarity differ?

A:

The «ground» bit goes at the far end of the cable. That’s where you connect it to the shield.
To make a loop, you need what’s called a «bond» or «make-before-break» connection. To have a loop with «left and right» polarity, you connect the left end of the cable to the shield, then run down through the shield, then hook up the right end of the cable back to the left end of the cable.
To make a «half-polarity» loop (one side of the loop is grounded), you connect the left end of the cable to the shield, then run down through the shield, then connect the right end of the cable to the shield, then through the
