Song of Farca: Prologue is an awesome puzzle game in which you will battle for your life. You play a prisoner who is suddenly transported to a corrupted planet. You find an armor on your back, a gun, and you meet 4 guards. All of them will try to kill you if you refuse to find an exit. You can fight them or go to jail to have more chances, but this time you will be facing guards with special abilities and powers. Your goal is to find an exit and fight for freedom. You can play Song of Farca: Prologue in PC version, Android version and iOS version. Now that I think about it, I believe I started on the MMORPG either before or simultaneously with the other members. I was more on the casual side of things, having no intention of «joining» but wanting to do small things to help. I played Dragon’s Maw and had been playing DF since it came out as well (maybe right away after the «crash» of DF 1.0 in August) I started working at the game store in late 2000 (or early 2001) and was slowly but gradually being drawn in to their serious side of the business. When Rogue was released around 2002, I was on the forums daily reading about all of the good «rant» and discussion about the game and its development. Reading the forums let me know about some of the better things about the game, like the level editor which was great even though it was basic and not nearly as powerful as what the dev team was using at the time (DF). I would say the very beginning of my involvement into the development of the game was after the «Dragon’s Maw» expansion. I don’t know the name of the person, but one of the people on the dev team at the time (I think it was Seth) came by the store and was talking to Rob a lot (Rob Williams was the owner of the game store at the time) about the things we were going to do next in the game. I remember that Rob told him we had to go ahead and just take our time working on and expanding Dragon’s Maw first to make sure it was done «right». The dev team was also going to try to add some more «wacky» content first. This was what got me into the dev team, as I thought they were just going to do some simple things to whet my appetite for the game. Then they came back and
Undoubtedly, the series that inspired “The Art of Computer Game Design” is the original “Rogue”. Because of this very fact, “Design for Fun” is not only an ambitious self-financed project, it’s also the most important part of this series. Which has also created a unique opportunity to turn the original “Rogue” into a whole new series. Having two inspirations, yet keeping the basic foundation of the game, we have released “Design for Fun” in four parts. « Part 1. » « Part 2. » « Part 3. » « Part 4. » « Part 5. » « Part 6. » « Part 7. » « Part 8. » « Part 9. » « Part 10. » « Part 11. » « Part 12. » « Part 13. » « Part 14. » « Part 15. » « Part 16. » « Part 17. » « Part 18. » « Part 19. » « Part 20. » « Part 21. » « Part 22. » « Part 23. » « Part 24. » « Part 25. » « Part 26. » « Part 27. » « Part 28. » « Part 29. » « Part 30. » « Part 31. » About This Game The idea of this series is to learn the history of the computer games industry from the perspective of people working in games industry. This series is not a chronology of events, but a result of researching the topics using different ways – in our case – interviews and blog posts. It’s a research, and a showcase of the history of the gaming industry for anyone who is interested in knowing more about the industry. Have a face to face conversation with the employee. You can’t avoid that. You can’t let them carry on with their work. Yes, you can always excuse them for a moment or give them more time. But ultimately it is better if they understand why you are doing that. By understanding where they have gone wrong, you can help them improve and
