VSColorOutput is an extension built for Visual Studio 2010 or 2011 that was designed to help users include color highlighting to the Build and Debug Output windows, thus helping them identify certain components in an easier way. Developers can keep track of various elements of their code as this plugin uses different color codes for each event. Therefore, errors are displayed using a red highlight, the warning texts are yellow and the color for build headers is green. It is possible for advanced users to customize the capabilities of VSColorOutput according to their needs. For instance, adding custom match patterns can be easily achieved, as well as modifying the default color values for certain elements, thus providing users with a wide range of possibilities. The concept behind this extension is that it hooks to Visual Studio’s classifier chain, thus monitoring each line that is sent to the output window while checking a list of regular expressions and classifications. Based on the first matching expression, the classification is defined. In case no matching pattern is available, the analyzed line is classified as a BuildText one. After classifying each line, the extension maps each classification to a different color, based on an external configuration file on the computer. When attempting to build a project, VSColorOutput automatically stops the build after the first error occurs, thus saving developers significant amounts of time. Also, if users choose to build from the command line, it displays the elapsed build time, as opposed to building from Visual Studio.
Plugin information: Version: 1.0.0.0 Build type: Visual Studio 2010 SP1, Visual Studio 2012 Build version: 0.0 Features: — Extends the default visual output of Visual Studio by adding color highlighting of various build events — Displays the build output in two windows: Default and DefaultWindow3 — Customizable color settings for error messages, warnings, headers and text areas — Compatibility with Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2012 — Option to view the build log — Automatically stops the build when there are no more errors to view — Option to view build time — Option to display build progress in a terminal window Customization: You can modify the settings in the following files: — Preferences.xml — Colors.xml If you want to customize colors, please try use: -> IntelliSense Color Guide or -> Color Picker Note: -> You can not change the default «String» color in the Color.xml -> When you uncomment some colors for the build output, they do not appear in the color picker If you do not want to customize colors, you can use the default colors. Known issues: The build output is not updated when a unit test fails. Installation: 1. Uninstall this plugin if you’re using the default Visual Studio color scheme 2. Download and install the package 3. Open the Settings.xml file under the folder C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\VisualStudio\10.0\Extensions\amd 4. In the «Preference» node you will find the entry «Solution File Text Color» 5. Modify the «ChosenColor» into «ChosenColor2» 6. Close and restart Visual Studio How to debug: 1. Select Tools > Options 2. Go to the «Configure User Tools» and select the option «Output Window» 3. Switch «Enable IntelliSense» to «Debug» and «Enable Trace Output» to «On» 4. Select «Output Window» under «Debug» 5. You will see «VSColorOutput» 6. In the «Temporary» tab type «>» 7. Add the «Output Event» and «Error Event» 8. Click «OK» to close the window 9. Cue in the features of Visual Studio that allow you to keep a close eye on your project during build time. The Build Output window shows you the output of build processes in an easy to view, text based format. However, there are certain problems with the color scheme used for highlighting certain parts of build outputs, like the Error, Warning and Information messages. This can cause eyes to bleed and is very difficult to distinguish from each other. VSColorOutput Crack Free Download provides a solution to this problem and provides color highlighting with a nicer, detailed view for each type of output. It’s also designed to help with dependency management and provide developers with a way to keep track of all the various components of their code. For instance, you can use regular expression patterns to display certain pieces of code based on their names. Additionally, users will have access to a few other features that can help identify specific components and provide users with a good idea about which lines they have to pay attention to when debugging. Not only does VSColorOutput create a more detailed view of the Build Output window by adding color highlighting to the different pieces, but it also allows you to «stop the build» when a certain condition happens, allowing developers to focus on a single component and debug the code pertaining to that component. For instance, you could configure VSColorOutput to only display the assembly names and the lines the assembly produces when the build fails. In this way, you will be able to catch errors faster, as opposed to getting redirected to your project’s website while also seeing the Build Output window. VSColorOutput allows you to stop the build at any time, either by closing the current process or by clicking the «Abort Build» button in the top right corner. This feature is really important for people who are just starting to learn how to develop and debug their code. Configuration: 1. File -> New -> Configure extension 2. Name (default to VSColorOutput) 3. Type «Global extension» 4. Check «Enable when VS starts» 5. Select the extension’s file (default extension) 6. Click Ok You will now have a new «Global» extensions. 7. Now, modify your regular expression patterns and set colors for different categories (error, warning, build text,…). 8. Set the plugin’s extension Additional Info: VSColorOutput has a default color scheme that you can use to get an idea about how to set colors for each type of output. In the default 2f7fe94e24
This Add-In for Visual Studio builds a mapping of different types of statements and their associated colors. It is implemented using regular expressions with a map file to change the behavior and appearance of both types of errors and warnings. In order to correctly map the individual types of errors and warnings, it relies on the classifier system. This feature is able to match the line of code, and decide whether it is text, build output or a regular expression. This feature requires the Visual Studio IDE to be running and signed-in. Changes and bugs in the VSColorOutput extension are reported on the project’s Git repository. Version History: Version 1.0.0 Released Version 2.0.0 Released Version 3.0.0 Released What’s new? The VSColorOutput has been extended to support debugging sessions in the Visual Studio IDE. Now, when users debug their code, VSColorOutput will automatically pop-up and assist them in a faster and more effective way. There’s a new Window Layout for VSColorOutput! Now, users can configure the window layouts easily using a preset configuration or on the fly with a double click of the window. There’s also a new view button in the upper left corner to open a temporary view of the map. There’s a new way of writing to the Map! If you find that you no longer want to open a window to check the status of your map or reload your customizations, you can simply change a map file to use a mode of «readwrite» or «immutable» and it will not fail the classifier. Other minor UI improvements Fixed an issue that was preventing the Add-in from working when using the new Windows 7-style registry. Fixed some issues with the classifier system’s ability to detect the beginning of a comment. Fixed some text-matching issues. Fixed the C# compiler’s type-checking of the regex. Fixed some issues with the header-highlighting. Fixed an issue where a list of keybindings would not show up when the add-in was minimized to the taskbar. Fixed an issue where the classifier would not add the User-defined element to the list of monitored types. Fixed a crash that would occur when trying to set the Classifier’s mode to readwrite and no map file was specified. Fixed an issue where users would not be able to load the
